Two Minnesota Cities Among ‘Best Places To Live’

Residents of Woodbury and Lakeville won’t be surprised that their cities were listed in the top 50 Best Places to Live according to Money Magazine. Among the cities that made the list, Woodbury made it in to the Top 10 cities in America, giving residents of the beautiful homes in Woodbury MN just another reason to be happy with their purchase. Lakeville residents are sure to be pleased with their city’s ranking of 28th in the country, showing just how ideal Minnesota living can be.

One of the many reasons Woodbury ranked so high is the way it combines the comfort and security of a friendly smaller community with the convenience and attractions of big city life, thanks to its proximity to St. Paul. Woodbury offers residents of all ages the benefits of a quieter city where the noise and bustle of bigger cities doesn’t intrude on daily life, while still offering its own wealth of amenities and entertainment. The Woodbury Community Theatre and the Woodbury Days Festival are just a few of the local treasures.

As Money Magazine points out, Woodbury is just 15 minutes from St. Paul, yet it’s home to 51 parks offering natural beauty and plenty of ways to stay entertained. In addition, the city is one of the more affluent locations on the magazine’s list — the median family income is more than $120,000 — yet homes are still affordable, coming in under the median price of homes in other places that were analyzed. This is capped off with low unemployment and anticipated job growth, making it an attractive place to settle by offering reliability and security.

Lakeville isn’t far behind on the list and certainly doesn’t fall short when it comes to natural charm or outdoor activities. Both were noted in the magazine’s ranking, particularly the large number of lakes that fulfill both categories. The magazine says, ‘”All together, Lakeville maintains 100 miles of walking and bike trails; in winter, it also cuts holes in the lake ice and provides hot cocoa for a youth fishing contest.”

Even if you prefer shopping and a relaxing cup of coffee, there’s plenty for you in Lakeville. The historic downtown area serves up a wealth of shopping choices and fun for all ages. The downtown area is also where the week-long Panorama of Progress festival takes place each year, with everything from pottery making to professional wrestling.
