
Glow Holiday Festival
What better way to get into the holiday spirit than with a visit to the GLOW Holiday Festival. Lights, food, rides, and more make this the perfect family event. You might even get some new holiday decorations for your Minneapolis MN homes! So mark your calendars and don’t miss out on this dazzling event.
This walkable event even has its own map to mark out the huge variety of attractions and features to enjoy. As you stroll through the fairgrounds, you’ll be dazzled by more than a million lights, including a bike-powered tree! There’s also the colossal GLOW Palace with three levels of spectacular lights and lit crystals. Experience a version of the Northern Lights where you get to walk through an amazing interactive display where lights rain down on you from above. It may be almost winter, but you can enjoy the Color Blossoms where the hills come alive with thousands of flower bulbs putting on an elegant show and dancing to music.
Other features include sELFie Plaza, where you can take the perfect photos for Instagram. The Reindeer Run is a twinkling holiday maze, and there’s a Gingerbread House, Enchanted Forest, and Santa Land. There are also a variety of rides, some requiring extra costs, such as the Sky Glider, which offers stunning panoramic views of the entire festival. Throughout, you’ll find fire pits to keep you warm, a GLOW gift shop, complete with excellent ugly sweaters, Kowalski’s Hot Chocolate Igloo, and the State Fair Food Court & Beverages. Along with fair food favorites, including Colonial Nut Roll, KCM Egg Roll, Mountain Mike’s, Pronto Pups, Original Hockey Mom, Youniverse, Two Rivers Kettle Korn, Floyd’s, IPerogi, Pickle Palace, and Thumb Cookies, there are also beverage stations throughout the festival grounds. Obviously, there will be hot chocolate, but there will also be cider, beer, and wine, including GLOW’s own Gingerbread Blonde Ale by Elm Creek Brewery.
The GLOW Holiday Festival takes place Nov. 18, 2021 – Jan. 2, 2022, at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. GLOW was designed with the health and safety of both guests and employees in mind, so you can feel good about attending this visual wonder of an event. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Entry times are reserved every hour starting at 5:00pm each night. You can enter at any time within the hour that your ticket was purchased for, and you can stay as long as you would like. The last reserved entry time is 8:00pm. Starting at 8:30pm, any ticket holders that may have missed their previous entry times are able to enter. GLOW closes Sunday-Thursday at 10:00pm, and Friday-Saturday at 11:00pm.
